Pit firing pottery is Devine. It involves putting burnished, bisque fired pots in a bonfire with oxides and organic materials such as leaves animal poo, banana skins etc that will colour the pots when burned. After the pots have cooled, they are cleaned and polished and can be absolutely gorgeous.
